On this first day to Summer I thought I’d bid farewell to Spring by sharing a few of the many flower photographs I’ve shot in the last few months. They were captured at various locations from Longwood Gardens to my own yard. Here they are in no particular order:

Catskills Spring Photo Weekend-2
Sunday was a shorter day since the end of the tour and check-out was following lunch. We started out at 7:30 am with some sun and clouds with the clouds increasing as the day progressed. We headed to Bastion Falls which is roadside in Palenville. The falls are usually busy with tourists but since we arrived early we had the place to ourselves. The water was running a bit slower than in the Fall but we made the best of it exploring a variety of vantage points. Our next two stops were something a little different from the usual with our second stop being the colorful town of Tannersville where we enjoyed a relaxed street shoot. Next on the tour was an abandoned inn we’ve shot on previous trips. We headed up to Platte Cove after that and made a quick stop at a farm field with a mountain view where I had photographed on Friday in much different light. It was getting cloudy and we were running out of time so we took the scenic way home, had lunch and said our good-byes. Here are some favorites from Sundays tour:
Catskills Spring Photo Weekend-1
Here are some photos from the Catskill’s Spring Photo Weekend I led from Friday, June 3rd through Sunday, the 5th. We had a great group of 15 and were blessed with cool but sunny Spring weather. I traveled up a day early to scout with our other leader, Matt and came up with a few new locations to add to the tour. The photos below are from time spent scouting as well as Saturday’s itinerary of stops which included; a mountainside lake, the Olana State Historic Site, Rip Van Winkle Bridge, a picturesque farm, All Souls Church and Mountain Top Arboretum. Sunday’s locations will appear in my next post.
