Landscape Potpourri

These days I’m lucky to have the time to keep up with processing and posting my images. All caught up I decided to backtrack through my shoots from the last three months. Lo and behold, I found a few I hadn’t posted before. Sometimes images slip through the cracks or don’t fit into a particular idea for a post. In trying to come up with a title for this collection I also thought about how good creating landscapes makes me feel … they’re good for my soul! I love being there, capturing the scene and later processing to share what it was like to be there. Here are a few you haven’t seen before …

My favorite is “Goodnight Mountains” because of the lighting, the colors, the fence in the foreground and the dramatic sky. It’s a real winner. I like “Turrets in Moonlight” because of the silhouette of the mountains against the pattern and color in the sky. Good job on all. I know the feeling of wanting to be out there looking and shooting.

  5. love these images – particularly ‘goodnight mountains’

    • Thank you so very much Otto! I am gearing up for a lot of shooting in the upcoming weeks … shades of gold are starting to show up on the foliage here!

  17. You’re doing some terrific work Denise!

  18. A perfect way to frame these, Denise, landscapes that are good for the soul. Even though anyone would assume you love being there, hearing you say it brings it to life a new way. It’s refreshing. That first one – oh, I love just the space of it, if that makes sense, and how the jutting fence lines echo the mountains in form, texture and color. The blues and lavenders of the twilight river and aspen grove are beautiful, and that glow in the sky behind the turrets, so expansive. A pleasure! I hope you’re enjoying this long weekend. 🙂

    • Thank you Lynn … hope you have a nice weekend too. I’d like to get out shooting but it looks like a lot of clouds and rain the next few days.

  19. A lovely potpourri. The Aspen Grove is particularly appealing and serene.

  20. Really loving the midsummer’s glow in the aspen grove. I can almost hear the whispering leaves and humming cicadas. Beautiful work.

    • Thank you for your visit and nice comment! Some call the aspen trees ‘quakies’ because the leaves make a gentle tinkling in the wind.

  21. Stunning captures as always, Denise!! I always do feel like I am seeing your landscape as if I were standing there myself. Your images are always a joy to view and most definitely soul-fulfulling to me! 🙂
